Return to Menu SUBJECT CONTROL TRAINING FOR KANE CO. ROE On February 27, over 60 educational staff from throughout Kane County, Illinois participated in a Controlled F.O.R.C.E. training workshop for Maintaining a Safe Learning Environment. This training workshop, the second one that Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has presented through the Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE), provides educational staff with a better understanding of how to identify potential hostile situations. Furthermore, the hands-on training developed participants' ability to respond to physical violence in an appropriate and effective manner. The skills developed during the training translated to increased confidence for these educational staff members to identify, prevent, and respond to violence within the educational environment should they find themselves in a situation where immediate physical response is necessary. The subject control training was based on Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Mechanical Advantage Control Holds™ (M.A.C.H.). The M.A.C.H. system provides a set of tools to appropriately control, detain, and escort subjects, whether those subjects are elementary school students, high school students, or disgruntled parents that cause a threat to the safety of staff members or students.

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has developed a one-day training workshop lesson plan that includes hands-on subject control and self defense instruction as well as class discussion on what is appropriate force. The purpose of this lesson plan is to help school districts to develop a community consensus on what appropriate force is defined as, and to provide functional skills for responding to threats within the learning environment in a manner that falls within the universally agreed upon appropriate force definition. Any parent, teacher, educational staff member, or school resource officer that is interested in offering this training workshop within their school district is encouraged to contact Controlled F.O.R.C.E. at 630-365-1700 for detailed information. 2009 TEAM COMPETITION AT U.S.N.S.T.A.
