U.S.N.S.T.A. Law Enforcement Training Series

In response to the success of the U.S.N.S.T.A. Force Response - Detroit '07 (which was a "mini-conference" run by the United States National Standards of Training Association in April for the Detroit Metro Police Department), the U.S.N.S.T.A. has developed the Law Enforcement Training Seminar Series to address current issues in law enforcement, corrections, and security.

On September 19-21, the U.S.N.S.T.A. Law Enforcement Training Seminar (LETS) Series will present “Focus on Women’s Tactical Training” Instructor Development Seminar to be hosted by the Detroit Metropolitan Police Department. This seminar is designed to further training interests of female officers in law enforcement by providing students with tools to encourage the development of training curriculums conducive to learning and to increasing female officer participation in advanced departmental training. Furthermore, this seminar will provide students with tools to enhance their skills as police officers and instructors, and to improve their tactical preparedness for handling hostile situations.

The “Focus on Women’s Tactical Training” Instructor Development Seminar will emphasize tactical training for women in law enforcement and provide instruction in key close quarters subject control and hostile situation training categories, including: Suspect Control / Arrest, Team Arrest Tactics, Force Protection, Building Search & Clearance, Tactical Firearm Shoot / Don’t Shoot Scenarios, and Response to Deadly Force Encounters. Instruction will be provided by U.S.N.S.T.A. Approved Instructors, including instructors from Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Tactical Training Systems and Adrenalin Proving Grounds, LLC.

The U.S.N.S.T.A. LETS Series will also be presenting "Protective Operations" Instructor Development Seminar on December 10-12 in Las Vegas, NV. This seminar will address Protective Detail Operations issues for Law Enforcement and Security professionals.

P.O.S.T. and State Approval Updates

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has developed a blueprint for transferring subject control skills quickly and efficiently in a short-fuse delivery method that can be expanded or contracted as environmental factors (i.e. time, class size) necessitate. This blueprint has been rigorously tested by a cross-section of law enforcement and military operators, and has been integrated into training doctrine at all levels of law enforcement and branches of military. Federal, state, and local law enforcement training academies across the nation, as well as Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard training groups have integrated this blueprint into their training policy and/or doctrine. Having established a standard of training, other groups within the LE / MIL community have a clear understanding of what results can be expected when this blueprint is integrated into their own training program.

To further substantiate a viable standard of training that can be applied nationwide, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. continues to seek and obtain P.O.S.T. Approval or equivalent in all states where we offer instructor certification and development training for in-service training credit. Here is a list of the latest P.O.S.T. Approval updates for Controlled F.O.R.C.E. so far this year:

  • California: Level 1 and Level 2 are now CA POST Plan 4

  • Colorado: Level 1 and Level 2 are now CO POST Approved

  • Missouri: Level 1 is now MO POST Approved

  • Nevada: Level 1 and Level 2 have been re-approved by NV POST

  • North Dakota: Level 1 has been re-approved by ND POST
