Controlled F.O.R.C.E.
QUARTERLY

Summer 2005
Volume 1 Issue 3

Welcome to the third issue of the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Quarterly E-mail Newsletter. In this issue you will find the latest information on the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Online Training Center, the U.S.N.S.T.A. Training Conference, and our updated Training Schedule.

CONTROLLED F.O.R.C.E. PROGRAM UPDATE

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. recently reduced the number of training days for the Level 1 & 2 Instructor Certification Course from a 5-Day to a 4-Day class. The 4-Day classes are only being offered at select seminars where a Chief National Instructor will be teaching. As the number of Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Certified Instructors continues to grow, the number of officers renewing their certifications increases per class.  We find that the practical experience and knowledge of the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. program that these re-certs bring to our classes greatly improves the competency at which new students are able to learn, making a 4-Day class viable. All 4-Day classes are marked as such on our National Training Schedule.

ONLINE TRAINING CENTER

The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Online Training Center automated payment system is fully operational. Registered users can now become activated for authorized use of the Weapon Retention & Disarms training by completing the payment process.  If you have already registered for Weapon Retention & Disarms but have not completed the payment process, please contact Online Training Center Support at support@controlledforce.com for directions on becoming activated. If you have not yet registered, visit www.controlledforceonlinetraining.com for more information. Weapon Retention & Disarms is available in online and CD-ROM format. Both options cost just $7.99 each.

The Online Training Center was developed to provide officers with inexpensive defensive tactics training in a quick and simple to use format. The techniques taught in Weapon Retention & Disarms give the officer a host of skills needed to survive a variety of weapon grabs and then transition to control tactics or disengagement options with increased safety to the officer and the subject. While users will gain an understanding of the techniques and an ability to perform them in real field situations, the instruction provided on the site in no way replaces participation in any of our hands-on training courses.

U.S.N.S.T.A. CONFERENCE COMPLIMENTARY ATTENDANCE

The United States National Standards of Training Association (U.S.N.S.T.A.) invites all Law Enforcement Administrators (including Police Chiefs, Sheriffs, Academy Directors, P.O.S.T. Directors, and Corrections Directors) to attend its 6th Annual National Training Conference on December 12-16 at no charge

This invitation grants free participation in all training programs and presentations throughout the weeklong event. Law enforcement administrators attending the conference will have the opportunity to observe, participate, and evaluate a diverse ensemble of innovative training programs and products. The training available at the conference has been tested and proven to give law enforcement a practical edge in a world of ever-changing criminal enterprise, legal procedure, and public expectation.

Conference attendees also earn a variety of valuable certifications, including: Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1 Instructor Certification, Taser End User Certification, Laser Shot End User Certification, and State of Illinois Certificates of Completion. Unfortunately, the U.S.N.S.T.A. cannot include these certifications in the complimentary offer to law enforcement administrators. However, they will  provide all conference certifications to administrators at half the tuition price.

Instructor-Development Team Discounts are available to all administrators who want to bring their instruction staff with them to the conference. These group rates give departments of all sizes the opportunity to train and certify its instruction staff in a variety of modern law enforcement tactics and techniques while putting its department head on the same page as its officers, all in one cost-efficient week of training.

Contact the U.S.N.S.T.A. for more information: 630-365-1400.
