Controlled F.O.R.C.E. M.A.C.H. System Non-Lethal Weapons NLW Instructor Training

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. specializes in training support and curriculum development of non-lethal weapons and tactics. Our Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) deliver training packages that develop the necessary mindset, knowledge, and skills to effectively utilize mission-specific Nonlethal Capability Sets (NLCS) in support of anti-terrorism / force protection and peacekeeping operations, including: perimeter security, convoy security, access denial, crowd control, detainee control.

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. and the INIWIC Program

Since 2004, the Interservice Nonlethal Individual Weapons Instructor Course (INIWIC) Instructor Cadre has looked to the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Team to develop a Close Range Subject Control (CRSC) curriculum that provides a strong foundation in hand-to-hand techniques. While the primary job of INIWIC is to provide instructor training in NLW such as Baton and OC, the instructor cadre understands the importance of establishing a framework of hand-to-hand skills from which to integrate other force response options. INIWIC represents the Department of Defense standard of instructor training in NLW Instructor tactics for all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

By incorporating the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Mechanical Advantage Control Holds™ (M.A.C.H.) into its curriculum, the INIWIC program fosters the mindset of utilizing movement, body positioning, and leverage to maintain control of a non-compliant operating environment and to stay alive in close quarters battle. Controlled F.O.R.C.E. and INIWIC Instructor Cadre put into practice the concept that "Movement is Life" and that service members must be trained to expect failure of any given Non-Lethal tactic. Controlled F.O.R.C.E. and the INIWIC program prepares service members to keep moving within the non-compliant operating environment, so that when failure occurs they are already set up to transition to another tactic and maintain control of the situation.

To provide the best method for NLW Instructors to deliver CRSC and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) content that maximizes available training time, instructor resources, and student retention, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. consulted INIWIC in the development of the INIWIC Controlled F.O.R.C.E. ‘All-Heart’ Live OC Indoctrination Drill.

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. All-Heart provides multiple levels of training in a single exercise, including: OC Exposure and M.A.C.H. Subject Control, Baton Deployment, Multiple Attackers, Teamwork and Team Takedowns, and Training Safety. The purpose of the All-Heart is to have the teammates inspire, motivate and be accountable to their partner who is suffering from the effects of OC spray.

Joint Non-Lethal Training Center

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. maintains a continual presence at Joint Non-Lethal Training Center (JNET-C) in support of the INIWIC program and its instructor cadre. Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has provided instructor support, quality assurance inspections, curriculum development, and consultation to INIWIC on nearly an annual or bi-annual basis through individual Task Orders since 2004.

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. and SOTG / MARSOC

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has assisted the USMC Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Special Operations Training Group (SOTG) develop a common platform of physical control skills that can support any training that the operator needs. MTTs have delivered M.A.C.H. based training to instructor cadres at I, II, and III MEF SOTGs, and Marine Corp Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC). M.A.C.H. based training is incorporated into SOTG and MARSOC NLW points of instruction.

NLW Training Capabilities

Through our extensive support of the INIWIC Program, and numerous recommendations accumulated over the years by INIWIC Instructors, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. has identified a Training Plan that allows for the most effective and efficient implementation of the exercises and drills, and that maximizes the Government’s return on investment (ROI).

Based on a unit’s needs, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. will deliver Reinforcement Sustainment Trainer training (which emphasizes NLW Instructor development), or the Xtreme Training Package (which emphasizes a high speed delivery of mission-specific packaged drills).

Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Nonlethal Tactics Training is provided by Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Instructor Cadre and U.S.N.S.T.A. (United States National Standards of Training Association) consultants who are subject matter experts (SMEs) in non-lethal tactics, techniques, procedures, and technologies.

Attention INIWIC Graduates
